In the years 1960s to 1980s, Nashik’s industrial and commercial development was among the pioneers. c.v. And Annasaheb Kulkarni’s name has to be taken first. He did important work for the development of Nashik in the field of industry, trade, education and civil cooperative banking.
He contributed to the guiding direction and developmental progress of the cooperative movement in Nashik district. Annasaheb established the Nashik District Nagari Sahakari Banks Association Nashik on 16 November 1978 with the same thought.
Nashik District Urban Cooperative Banks Association has been functioning for the last 45 years.
There are 43 members of Urban Co-operative Banks Association in Nashik district.
A State Level Cooperative Conference for Urban Cooperative Banks was organized by the Association on the weekend of 22nd, 23rd January 2011. The two-day conference received an unprecedented response.
2500 representatives of 340 banks from 36 districts of Maharashtra were present in large numbers.
